Charleston County School District’s Vision Every child will graduate from CCSD with the critical skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in college and the 21st Century global workforce.

CCSD Best Practice Standards iPad activities vs using iPad as a tool Productivity andCreativity 21 st Century Learning Skills

What does all this mean? Incorporating technology as a tool will allow students to have global access necessary to compete in the 21 st century. SC State Standards: Students use technology and digital media strategically and capably. Students employ technology thoughtfully to enhance their reading, writing, speaking, listening, and language use in a responsible manner.

Buist iPad Processes and Procedures Keep the iPad in its case at all times and carry it from class to class in the approved manner. iPads should be charged at home. Do not place it in a backpack or purse where it could be crushed by other heavy items such as textbooks, or where lunch bags could leak causing the iPads to get wet. iPads are sensitive to moisture and heat. The iPad must not be left where it could be stepped on, dropped or damaged by heat. You must keep the device dry and away from sinks, food and drinks, water fountains, puddles, or wet tabletops. iPads are NEVER allowed in the restroom!!

Buist iPad Processes and Procedures Do not write or place stickers on iPad or case. You should NEVER use another student’s iPad or let another student use your iPad. Practice digital citizenship at all times. It is ALWAYS your responsibility to take care of and use the iPad in an appropriate manner the school administration has the right to remove this learning tool if deemed necessary

iPad Processes and Procedures Students may add content to the iPad in the form of appropriate apps and music approved by Parent/Teacher. Remember that these are used for the academic year and any material you purchase for your iPad may not be recovered. Students must be 13 or have parent permission to have an iTunes account or Gmail account. (CCSD Gmail accounts created in school are limited) Students are subject to random spot checks of the content on their iPads and will be expected to use good judgment concerning content stored thereon. Content created and stored on the iPad should primarily be for the of demonstration of learning. Within the classroom setting, all apps, files, and work saved or stored to the iPad should follow the guidelines set forth by the Technology Acceptable Use Policy of Charleston County School District that each student, parent/guardian has signed.
