B ODY IMAGE.

B ODY IMAGE AND THE MEDIA : Lots of t.v. Shows with thin people General image, people want to be thin People are never happy when they compare their bodies to those of celebrities

E ATING DISORDERS : ANOREXIA / BULIMIA Thin people on t.v. Want to be thinner Thinner is “cool”, and “attractive” People are always unsatisfied no matter how thin they are Anorexia= starving yourself Not eating, like extreme dieting Bulimia= eating and then making yourself puke. Bulimia + anorexia= abuse of your body. Its NOT going to make you skinny, just going to hurt you even more.

OBESITY Difference between obese and overweight, overweight=20% body fat, obese 30+% When you eat to much and get really fat Eating out to much = fat. Eating out to much, not exercising and not being at all active = obese Obesity= 3x as likely to have heart failure 90% of Americans are fat. 40% are obese. America = almost 400,000 obesity related deaths per year. An obese person can have up to 4 liver problems, with out any outward signs.

T HE PERFECT LIFE STYLE : Aside from eating healthy and exercising, it DOESN’T exist. No one diet can work on everyone. Everybody’s body reacts differently to different things. Some people only need 1500 calories a day, others can need up to Diets= USUALLY DON’T WORK. Starving yourself is NOT going to make you skinny, its just going to make you hungry. Exercise, eating healthy and being active WILL help you lose weight, and you won’t be abusing your body.

Thank you for listening, and remember... THERE IS NO PERFECT LIFESTYLE, WEIGHT OR HEIGHT! YOUR BODY IS FINE THE WAY IT IS!!!!
