2  Today we’re going to talk about what are called “slips”, or times when you don’t follow your plans for healthy eating or being active.

3 What changes have you made to eat less fat (fewer calories)? What are some of the major changes you’ve made to be more active? Have you reached your weight goal? Your activity goal?

4  A normal part of lifestyle change.  To be expected.

5  Different people have different things that cause them to slip.  Some of us tend to overeat when we’re happy.  Some of us are more vulnerable to overeating when we’re bored.  Other people overeat when upset.

6  What is the most difficult for you in terms of slipping from healthy eating: feeling happy, bored, or upset? Are there other things that cause you to slip from healthy eating?  What things cause you to slip from being active?

7  The situations that lead to slips differ from person to person.  The way you react to slips is also a habit.

8  Slips are normal and to be expected.  No one time of overeating or not being active, no matter how extreme, will ruin everything.

9  Talk back to negative thoughts with positive thoughts.  Ask yourself what happened  Regain control the very next time you can.  Talk to someone supportive.  Focus on all of the positive changes you have made REMEMBER, YOU ARE MAKING LIFE-LONG CHANGES. SLIPS ARE JUST ONE PART OF THE PROCESS. LEARN FROM YOUR SLIPS I can do this!
