Registered apprenticeship program by NC Department of Commerce –6,400 hours of learning manufacturing skills –1,600 hours of college education Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Wake Tech Community College Journeyman Certificate by the NC Department of Commerce & USDOL Dual Training - Academics in College / hands on at company Guaranteed job opportunity after graduation

The NCTAP Candidate Profile High School Junior (or best Seniors) 2.8+ unweighted GPA (4.0 scale) For home school Wake Tech placement test Interest in a career in engineering or manufacturing All Math except calculus by graduation, Physics, good communication skills Drafting, CAD & Shop experience Paid work experience, especially hands-on making or fixing things Attendance (No more than 5 absences per year) NCTAP had more openings than suitable candidates in 2014!

Selection Timeline 2014/15 October – December/January –NCTAP presentations at local High Schools (October/November 2014) –Open houses in December 2014 and January 2015 March –Orientation (performance and Wake Tech placement tests) June - July –6 week Internship/Pre-Apprenticeship (performance and Wake Tech grades) September –Apprenticeship begins (receive quarterly evaluations) OctNov Dec JanFebMarAprMayJuneJulyAugSep
