3 Path to Post High School Plans
Complete Junior Year June 2019 College Visits Summer 2019 Complete Applications for Post High School Plans Fall of Senior Year Apply for Financial Aid if Needed Senior Year Graduate June 2020!

4 Complete Junior Year Senior year class registration
Junior meeting with counselor: last two weeks of March post-high school planning & Trailblazer process MCPS College Career Readiness test (based on post-high school plans) College & Career Q&A Sessions: Monday, June 3rd and TBD Naviance/Family Connections account activation

5 Senior Year Scheduling Options
Full Day Schedule at Blair Internship or Site-Based Work Experience (Work Study) Thomas Edison High School of Technology Dual Enrollment Programs Abbreviated Schedule

6 Post High School Options
Post Secondary College/University Additional Options 4-Year * Public * Private 2-year to 4-year * Start out at a 2 year school and then transfer to a 4-year to complete bachelors degree 2-year * Attend for two years with the intention of earning an associates degree Apprentice- ship/ Trade School Attend a trade school to earn a certificate in order to enter that field Military Army Navy Air Force Marines Reserves Work Force Enter directly into workforce.

7 MBHS Trailblazer Packets
All juniors will receive a Trailblazer Packet. Depending on their post high school plans, not all items have to be completed by all students. The packet contains: a. Transcript b. Junior Information Sheet c. 4-Year summary of Activities Sheet d. Teacher Checklist Sheets (two blue forms) e. Definition of Admission Options f. Trailblazer Planning Information Sheet Students will be instructed on how to complete their packets. All students and their parent/guardian will have to complete a questionnaire on Family Connections/Naviance.

Which Test Will you Take? SAT ACT Accuplacer All colleges A full length SAT will be given during school on April 9th, 2019. MCPS Benchmark: 500 on each section Majority of Colleges Students can choose to not take the SAT on the 9th and use a voucher to take an ACT instead. MCPS Benchmark: 21 Overall Used for placement at the 2-year college MCPS/MC Benchmark: Reading: 79 Sentence Skills 90 Algebra: 62 College Math: 45 All juniors must take one of these tests before the end of their junior year.
