Medieval Cathedral Art:Stained glass design

Single arched glass panel

 Create a stained glass design using tissue paper and construction paper.  The design should include a positive design with tissue paper and a negative border with construction paper.

 What was stained glass used for in the middle ages?  What purpose did it serve?  What effect did it have inside Cathedrals?  How is stained glass used today?

 Sketch out a variety of images that your would like to create.  Outline with a border.

 Draw the outlines of the image in a dark or contrasting construction paper.

 On one side of the image glue pieces of t  issue paper that match the intended colors.
