1 South America Map Labeling 3/26 1) Get a South America map outline from Mr. Johnson. 2) Use the textbook on page 570 to label each of the South American countries. 3) Color each country as well, but countries that border each other should not be the same color. 4) Take your time and have fun!

3 South America Map Sketch 3/27 1) Have a piece of line paper with your name, date and homeroom. 2) Use the textbook or the image on the front board to sketch South America. Page 570. 3) Label each of the countries and lightly color them with crayon or colored pencil. You can outline in marker. 4) your sketch should take up the entire page.

4 Textbook Pages 274-281 3/30 1) Name 10 different places you see on the map on pages 274 and 275. 2) On page 276, what happened in 11,000 B.C.? What happened in the 1500’s? 3)On page 277, what ethnicities make up Brazil? What about Columbia? 4) Write a summary of Daniella’s story. Include the different people and events.

5 Spring Break Timeline 1) Create a timeline on a piece of line paper. 2) This timeline will be the length of your spring break. 3) you need to have 7 different events or things that you did. 4) Have each event in a box that is colored. 5) Next to each box, include a small picture that represents that event.

7 South America Study Guide 1) on the side with the numbers, label the latitude and longitude lines. 2) On the other side, neatly label each of the South American countries. 3) Outline each country with a color. Countries that border each other should not be the same color. 4) Use the side with the numbers to try and guess each of the countries that match on the other side.

9 Partner Quizzing 1) You need to have your South America study guide. 2) You need to partner up with a responsible student. 3) Take turn naming the different countries in South America. 4) Partner not naming countries can give hints when there is trouble.

10 South America Pages 290-291 1) Who is El-Dorado? 2) What countries tried to take over South America? 3) What were the Spanish looking for? 4) Who did the Spanish conquer in Mexico? 5) Spanish used slaves for what? 6) Who threatened Spanish shipping and ports? 7) What did the Spanish bring that killed many Native Americans?

11 South America Conquest Picture Today you will be drawing a picture representing the Spanish coming to South America and taking over. On line paper. Represent their quest for gold, enslaving the native peoples as well as Africans. The top half will be the drawing with color. The bottom half of the paper will be a written description about this event.
