Navy Short Narratives  USN OFF-DUTY/RECREATIONAL FATALITIES 05 Sep 2015: (Hanauma Bay, HI) E-3 was hiking when he was swept into the water by a wave and did not resurface. 29 Aug 2015: (MCBH Kaneohe Bay, HI) E-3 died after falling from the second story balcony of his barracks. 08 Aug 2015: (Oak Harbor, WA) E-5 died after his boat took on water and sank. The other passenger swam to shore. 20 May 2015: (Lompoc, CA) O-5 died from injuries received when he collided with another bicyclist while participating in a Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride. 16 May 2015: (Manama, Bahrain) E-3 died of a fall while on liberty. 12 May 2015: (Frankford Junction, PA) MIDN died due to injuries sustained while a passenger in a train derailment. 29 Mar 2015: (Oahu, HI) E-4 died from a fall while hiking. 16 Oct 2014: (Thailand) E-7 died on 31 Oct from injuries sustained an in ATV mishap.

Aircrew ejected safely. 23 Jan 2015: (Twentynine Palms, CA) UH-1Y crashed short of the runway at KNXP. 2 fatalities. 13 Oct 2014: (MCAS Yuma, AZ) ALQ-99 pod departed EA-6B during tactical maneuvering. 01 Oct 2014: (NAG) MV-22 sustained engine degradation after takeoff from ship. Aircraft was able to recover aboard ship. Both crew chiefs egressed from aircraft. E-2 passenger was airlifted to a medical facility. 05 Oct 2014: (Riverside, CA) E-3 died in a motorcycle mishap.  USMC OFF-DUTY/RECREATIONAL FATALITIES 22 Aug 2015: (Camp Pendleton, CA) E-2 died after he fell from the third floor of the Bachelor Enlisted Quarters. 09 Aug 2015: (TUMON BEACH, GUAM) E-2 went missing while swimming with friends. Declared dead on 14 Aug after extensive search. 01 Aug 2015: (Yuma, AZ) Two E-6s died as a result of a recreational off-road mishap. One died at scene and another passed away 24 Aug.
