8 TH GRADE TARDY POLICY 3 Tardies = Locker removed for 1 week 4 th Tardy = Restricted Lunch 5 th Tardy = Restricted Lunch 6 th Tardy = Lose Hawk Card Number of tardies goes for ALL classes, not just in one.

STEPS: 1 st Step = Warning 2 nd Step = Parent Contact and Detention Thursdays at 7:15 a.m. in Library 3 rd Step = Parent Contact, Parent Conference, and Mini-School Restriction 4 th Step = Parent Contact, Dean Referral, and ISS 5 th Step = Assistant Principal 6 th Step = Principal

H AWK C ARD Earn 2.5 GPA or higher No F’s No I’s (missing assignments) Need as ticket to get into special events

PROCEDURES: Begin F.O.A. immediately. Place your agenda on the right corner of your desk. Raise your hand to comment and wait for acknowledgement to speak. Use Classroom Sign Language when appropriate. Wait until the person speaking is finished before you speak. Post-Its: If you earn 2 by the end of class, you are earning a step. Tickets: If you earn 5 by the end of the 9 weeks you will earn a reward. Leave every class BETTER than when you found it Trash is to remain on the left corner of your desk until class is dismissed and you may throw it away. No technology may be turned on or present during class unless it is a specified B.Y.O.D. day. Computers may be used during specified class times ONLY. You may not get up out of your seat without permission. If I am on the floor, you are not.

PROCEDURES: Sharpen pencils BEFORE class begins. -if the lead breaks, hold your pencil in the air and wait for acknowledgement to go sharpen it. o If you need paper, you may grab it from the top pull out drawer in the back. o If borrowing classroom materials becomes a habit, you may be asked to exchange materials for collateral (i.e. cell phone, backpack, etc.) If you are absent, check the agenda at the front, the notes folder at the back, and the missed assignment checklist. - YOU are RESPONSIBLE for making up any missed assignment, quiz, test, or project. Please see the “Since You’ve Been Gone” area to pick up what you need to make- up. o If you need a tissue, cover your nose and wait for acknowledgment. o -DO NOT USE more than you need (1 or 2 max.)
