3 Meet the Bald Eagle The bald eagle lives in north America. The male weighs 9 pounds and females are between 12 and 13 pounds. They have a wingspan of up to 7 feet. They can live for 35 years.
4 Home Sweet Home They live near bodies of water. They nest in hardwood trees.
5 Dinnertime Eagles eat mostly fish but will eat birds, mammals, and carrion. They can dive at 100 mph. They can see fish from 1 mile away.
6 Adaptations Eagles migrate to the Alaska coast line in the winter. There is a warm bubbling water there. The spring and summer eagles dive fro fish. They sometimes migrate during the spring and fall.
