“Paul Revere’s Ride” What type of poem is this? When do the events in the poem take place? Who is the “friend” in the poem and what is his role? How does Revere want the people to respond? What is the significance of the lanterns in the belfry? Where does Revere watch the belfry from? Why does Revere pause after he sees the light? What do the British war ships look like? What events are described at the end of the poem?
