Curious George Curious about the Amendments By Meaghan Flynn, Katherine Barry, Dalton Mink, and Dane Page

The first Amendment George was curious about the amendments. As curious as he was he finds a book about the amendments and begins to read. He learns about the 1 st amendment. And read how it protects his basic rights. George also read that the first amendment allows him to say anything he wants, and express himself anyway he wants

The 2 nd amendment George was worried about being bullied by someone. The Man in the yellow hat reminds George of the 2 nd amendment and how it gives him the right to bear arms protect George was curious about what the right to bear arms means. Curious George decided to ask the man in yellow hat. He tells him that it means he has the right to protect himself.

Amendment 9 Even though It does not explain it in Full Everyone has rights that are undeniable

Amendment 10 George Knows that the U.S. has no King Because State and Federal government share In the People’s governing.

Amendment 11 If the State does something against the constitution People can’t sue them in court for a Resolution.

Amendment 12 If George could vote, on that day He’d vote for the President and Vice President separately Because the Constitution was made that way.

Amendment 13 A person is a person and not property that’s why the Forefathers of America stopped slavery

Amendment 14 Maybe you were born in america, a natural born citizen Because you belong to the country your birth was in

Amendment 15 George cannot vote because he is an ape But any guy can, no matter what religion, gender or race

Amendment 16 taxes Curious George just sold bananas to some of his friends, but he had to pay the government taxes or part of the money that he made. Curious George wanted to know why they can just take his money. The man in the yellow had said that the government can take a little bit of what you made because they need to pay for things like schools or roads.

Amendment 17 senator The man in the yellow hat wanted to become a part of the government called a senator. Curious George made signs for the man in the yellow hat so that his friends and other people would see the signs and vote for him because the people will choose if the Man in the Yellow hat will get picked.

Amendment 18 Everyday Curios George would have a banana while the man in the yellow hat would have a drink that he told Curios George he could not try it because it was only for adults. Although today Curious George got his banana and the Man in the Yellow hat did not have a drink. The Man in the Yellow hat told Curious George that his drink was banned.

Amendment 19 The man in the yellow hat had a friend named Maggie that would sometimes come over and play with Curious George on Mondays. They played hide and seek, but Curious George always hid in a tree and won. On Monday, Curious George got upset because Maggie never came over! Then the Man in the Yellow hat got home from voting. He told Curious George that women can now vote and so Maggie was with him voting.

Amendment 20 If the president becomes ill The Vice President always will Take his job and be the fill

Amendment 21 repeals The Man in The Yellow Hat could drink his adult drink since Amendment 21 repeals Amendment 18. Alcohol is now legal to sell or drink.

Amendment 22 terms George was curious about why George W. Bush didn’t run in the 2008 election. He wasn’t sure so The Man in the Yellow Hat explained to him that a president can only be elected for two terms. His two terms were up then.

Amendment 23 Although George doesn’t live in Washington D.C. He visited there with The Man in The Yellow hat with glee. He learned that it was the countries capital and that the people there could vote in the election of Presidency

Amendment 24 denied Curious George went with The Man in the Yellow to vote. While he was there he took note that young women and men were voting and so were older people. No one there would be denied voting by not paying a poll tax according to Amendment 24

Amendment 25 duties nominate When Curious George went to the White House he learned that if the president were to die or unable to carry out their duties. The vice president shall take his place. The new president would then nominate a vice president to take his old role in the government.

Amendment 26 Curious George always wanted to vote for a president. He watched the presidential election results on T.V. and wanted to go vote for himself. But The Man in the Yellow hat said according to Amendment 26 you can vote if your over the age of 18.

Amendment 27 Congress session The Man in The Yellow Hat is a Senator for New York. Congress can’t change any senators or representatives pay while they are serving that session of Congress. So he can’t make any more money then he is already making.

Glossary Taxes: Money given to the government it pay for the government or for certain facilities or services. Senator: A person in the higher group of lawmakers for the government. Duties: Something someone is expected to complete Terms: An amount of time someone is elected for. A presidents term is 4 years Nominate: To elect someone for an election Denied: To refuse to agree
