How many parts of speech can you list?

NOUN A noun is a word used to name a person, animal, place, thing, or idea. List as many nouns as you can in the picture below. You have ONE minute.

VERB A verb expresses action or a state of being. Example: What verbs could you use when describing a typical school day?

ADJECTIVE An adjective describes a noun or pronoun. (Answers: What kind? Which one? How many?) Examples: What adjectives could you use to describe my clothes?

ADVERB An adverb describes an action verb, adjective, or adverb. (Answers: When? Where? How? To what extent?) Examples: List as many adverbs as you can to describe the way a person is moving.

PRONOUN A pronoun takes the place of a noun or nouns. Examples: What pronoun(s) would you use to take the place of the following nouns? My dad The XC team Mrs. Moore’s class Nurse

CONJUNCTION A conjunction connects words or groups of words. Examples: F A N B O Y S Write a sentence using one of the conjunctions listed above!

PREPOSITION A preposition relates a noun or pronoun to another word in the sentence. Look at the bunny and box. What words can define the relationship between the bunny and the box?

INTERJECTION An interjection expresses a strong feeling or emotion. Examples:
