Listening 1. Number the scenes on the transparency. Prepare several short paragraphs like the model below and read them to the class. Have students write down the numbers of the scenes which match the activities mentioned in the paragraph. Students should write the numbers down in the order in which they hear them. When you have finished, reread the paragraph sentence by sentence and ask the class which scene matches each one. BEISPIEL In meiner Freizeit spiele ich oft Basketball mit meinem Bruder. Students in German-speaking countries usually join a club (Sportverein). Ask students which organizations exist in the U.S. that might be comparable (example: Little League baseball).

Each group guesses which activity its member is doing and receives a point for each correct guess.

Have students work in groups of four and ask them to interview each other about which activities they like to do during each season. Have one member keep track of their responses. When they have finished, they could share their results with the class. You could tally the results on the chalkboard or overhead projector to find out which activities are most popular in each season. BEISPIEL Was machst du gern im Sommer? Im Sommer schwimme ich gern.
