Plot Map- “School Play” Exposition:We are introduced to Robert, Belinda and Mrs. Bunnin. The story takes place in a school. Belinda is bullying Robert. Rising Action Climax:Robert messes up his lines. Falling Action:The play goes on. Resolution:* Robert is pleased with his performance. Mrs. Bunnin tells Robert he was “almost perfect”. Belinda pinches him once. Belinda bullies Robert. Mrs. Bunnin presures Robert to perform well. Robert forgets his lines. Belinda threatens Robert.

Exposition If the exposition introduces the characters or setting and hints at the conflict, where could we find it in “The School Play”? Lines 1-8: We are introduced to the characters, setting, and conflict.

Rising Action If the rising action shows how the conflict becomes more difficult or builds suspense, can you think of some events from the story that would be rising actions? Lines 52-56: We see the conflict/struggle developing. Lines

Climax If the climax is the turning point or the event that makes the outcome of the conflict clear, what event would this be from the story? Lines : a turning point

Falling Action If the falling action eases the tension or shows how the main character resolves conflict, what would the falling action of “The School Play” be? Lines : we see the conflict begin to resolve…

Resolution If the resolution of the story reveals how everything turns out and sometimes ends with a twist, what would the resolution of “The School Play” be? The last paragraph of the story: We see the outcome of the conflict.
