With our help, you won’t get lost! … School Travel

Thanks for thinking about the way you travel!

It is always fun to go out together and see new places.

Every journey we make is important, whether travelling to school, walking to the shops or going on a school trip.

When walking always make use of crossings where they are provided. Never cross in front or behind a bus – always wait for it to move away first. Always wear a seat belt in a car and other vehicles where provided. Keep well back on the train platform and mind the gap when getting off. Planning the safest route is very important - whether travelling on foot, by bus, train or car.

Before you leave school your teacher will give you a few simple rules to follow. Listen carefully to what your teachers tell you. If you get separated from your group, who should you ask for help?

Be prepared for a change in the weather and carry a waterproof.

If you are travelling by bus, is it a good idea to push and shove at the bus stop?

Quickly find a seat and always fasten your seat belt (where provided).

Put your bag in a safe place and don’t squash your sandwiches!

Why is it not a good idea to talk to the driver? The driver needs to concentrate at all times!

When you arrive at your destination do not lose sight of the group.

Why must you wash your hands thoroughly before eating especially when visiting a farm or zoo?

That way you won’t go home with an upset tummy!

At the end of a lovely day, the teacher will count up everybody before setting off back to school.

Look out for your parent or carer when you get back to school – let your teacher know if there is nobody to pick you up.

Thanks for listening! … … and have a great trip!
