1 We are students in 6 th grade. Aseel, Eman, Ayat From Asma’ Bent Abi Baker primary school in Jordan. This power point talks about traffic accidents issue and we ask gad that you all be safe you all be safe.

2 Road safety continues to be one of the nation's most serious public health issues— it affects everyone, whether you drive, walk or cycle

3 We all need to know how to take care of ourselves and respect others on the road. That's why we encourage everyone to get actively involved in understanding road safety. It is important to know: *How much (or how little) you can drink before you drive. *The speed limits on your local streets. *Where you can stop, revive and survive on a long journey. *How to teach young children road safety skills

4 We should protect children when they get in the car, whether they were with their parents or in school's bus. So we must follow appropriate actions in order to protect our children's lives. For example, Be safe in the car or the bus We should use the seat belts for children, and the child seat at the back seat is important to protect him when an accident happens. We also mustn't let children stand on the back seat. Before driving the car, we should make sure that all the doors and windows are closed and don't let children open them or leave them bringing their heads out of the car. Children should sit in their own places in the buses of the school. In the case of existence a back door for the school's bus, in the case of emergency, be careful that children don't open or get down of it. Don't let children get in or down the windows of schools' buses and don't let them through any thing out of them.

5 Crossing the road Look for safe place to cross * Look for safe place to cross * Stop and wait near the edge of the road. * Look right and left and listen for traffic. * Let any traffic in each direction pass and than look right and left again. * Quickly walk across the road when it is clear. * During crossing the road watch and listen for traffic coming. * Never cross at a corner or bend in the road. * Never cross near or at parked vehicles.. * Never run across the road.

6 Traffic advices for pedestrian Traffic advices for pedestrian. *Cross when the traffic light is red. *Don ’ t cross behind a van or lorry. *If there is a subway use it. *Ask a Police man to help you to cross the road. *If there is a bridge use it. *Walk don ’ t run. *Cross at crossing.

7 Visibility on roads and paths is often poor at night. Be seen - Always wear bright clothing when walking at night. Armband, jacket. Also, carry a flashlight to increase your visibility. Be safe - Walk with someone else or somewhere where people can see you.

8 The traffic light is a signaling device positioned at a road intersection, Pedestrian Crossing, or other location. Its purpose is to indicate, using a series of colors (Red - Amber - Green), the correct moment to stop, drive, ride or walk, using a universal Color code RED YELLOWGREEN Traffic lights for vehicles usually contain three lamps: RED YELLOWand GREEN In some systems, a flashing yellow means that a motorist may go ahead with care if the road is clear, giving way to pedestrians and to other road vehicles that may have priority. A flashing red is been treated as a regular stop sign. A flashing green means that you can go ahead Traffic light
