2 Why a “Coaching: Leadership for the 21 st Century” workshop? Three developments in the late 20 th century have changed the leadership landscape: - waves of democratization and flattening organizational hierarchies. - the internet and the rise of the virtual team. - the rise of the knowledge worker and free agent. There is more opportunity to lead than ever before. But how should you lead now? No one leader has the whole complex picture. The old command-and-control model is obsolete. Coaching is the leadership model that works for the 21 st century.

3 What does “Coaching: Leadership” do? It systematically builds key leadership skills (speaking, listening, emotional intelligence). It practices the 12 building blocks of masterful coaching. It aligns teams around bold goals. It enables participants to declare and launch initiatives to cause immediate breakthrough results – in cost, speed or quality. It fosters breakthroughs in people’s ability to lead.

Participants see the workshop not as a mere event, but as a process: - we interview key participants to customize workshops - we design workshops in partnership with team leaders - we care about “Monday morning”: can participants apply and sustain their new competencies afterwards? Participants go beyond theory: they design, declare and launch breakthrough initiatives that enable them to learn leadership and coaching in the action. Participants use Thomas D. Zweifel’s path-breaking book Communicate or Die: Getting Results Through Speaking and Listening (SelectBooks 2003, Global Leader Series) as a reference in the whole process.

8 What does “Coaching: Leadership” cost? The typical fee for a 2-day workshop is US$20,000. This includes: - pre-session interviews - 1 senior coach as instructor - the book Culture Clash as course material - a participants manual - a post-session conference call to debrief results and ensure sustainability of the learning. The results participants cause typically represent many multiples of the investment.

9 What results have participants caused out of our workshops? The retail team of a large multinational energy company expanded sales by 7% while the industry contracted –1%. One participant, in a pilot project to bring to market and sell new products that did not exist before, achieved his goal of €5 million.
