Pedro De Valdivia led his army to Chile to colonize. Valdivia found dozens of towns west of the Andes mountains Between 1563 and 1574 Juan Fernandez discovered the islands of Chile. Ferdinand Magellan was the first European to sight Chile. Colonization and Exploration

The League of Nations labeled Chile the country hardest hit by the Great Depression because 80% of government revenue came from exports of copper and then production development was established.
