WHY THE ACADEMY WAS BORN (2005) 1) To fill the education and training gap between nautical secondary school and State exam to get the qualification as officer. 2) To give an actual answer to the European and Italian crew shortage, above all in the officers’ sector.

HOW IT WORKS 1) Entrance examination Written: on technical subjects (deck and engine) and English languageOral: on psychological standing and inclination to the job at sea 2) Alternation theoretical course / work on board 4 modules of ~ 2 months and half 3 periods of ~ 4 months as cadet (deck or engine) TOTAL COURSE DURATION: 24 MONTHS

THE INTERNATIONAL BRANCH International Maritime Safety, Security and Environment Academy IMMSEA is an IMO’s training institute specialized in the training of senior specialist maritime personnel in various aspects of shipping and related fields. IMSSEA courses are addressed to officers coming from maritime administrations or port authorities.
