In-Line Skating

Things you need when you skate: Helmet Protective Gear (wrist guards, knee pads, elbow pads, skates, socks, skate tools) Sunglasses Sunscreen

Getting Started Practice standing up Practice falling down (fall forward and use your pads) Practice on flat ground initially until you are comfortable enough to go on hills.

Skating Stand with knees bent, your hands in front of your body and your feet no wider than shoulder width apart. Good posture and proper weight distribution is key to skating safely.

Stopping Use the heel-brake to stop yourself. Starting in the ready position or stance with knees bent, roll the skating brake foot forward. Raise the toe of your braking skate to apply the brake. Hold this adjusted ready stance until the desired speed or a stop is achieved.
