STAKEHOLDER CONSULTATION Mayor and Premier held stakeholder workshop in Feb 2006 to launch committee structure –Invited stakeholders that will be involved with City’s preparation for 2010 –Validation of members of the sub committees City’s planning allows for involvement of Lesotho, Kimberly, etc to contribute towards Africa hosted 2010 MPC to hold regular stakeholder forums –ICT, Transport, Hospitality, Safety and Security, and Emergency Services –Business chamber –General public awareness creation

STADIUM Appointment consultant for design review and construction project management Construction to commence Feb 07 Completion date May 08 Business plan compiled –Submitted to LOC and Treasury –Negotiations commenced Review of lease agreement with FS Rugbynecessary to create legacy stadium

STADIUM… Training venues not finalised –awaiting FIFA requirements and guidelines

TRANSPORTATION AND OTHER INFRASTRUCTURE Transport plan amounting to > R500 million Awaiting approval of PTIF business plan amounting to R440 million GAP analysis being conducted Compiling business plans for –Parking plan –Water services –Electricity –Solid Waste Sub committee also looking at: –Rail network upgrade and/or expansion –Airport upgrade

HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM Has beds, but requires at least beds Accommodation database to be revised based on: –Kimberly –Lesotho –Free State province –Use of education institutions facilities –Home based stay Grading criteria to be developed
