“MICCI” Involved 15 schools from in and around the national park. Covered most of the upland areas of the Peak District National Park. Carried out fieldwork during Science week and took back samples to be tested at school. Some of the water analysis was done by Manchester University Followed up in October 2008 There is a greater sense of ownership and responsibility by pupils for their local environment and how it links with a global issue (Climate Change). “The value of these visits for students has been increased by their experience in team work and outdoor learning hopefully leading to improved confidence and engagement back in school. The school has contributed to fulfilling their aim of raising expectations and attainment by enriching and enhancing their curriculum through outdoor learning.”

SPLATS/SEEDS Students Presenting Learning And Teaching Science A project designed to help sixth-formers develop confidence in presentation, communication, planning and organisational skills as well as consolidating their own scientific knowledge. KS2 pupils are invited to participate in a day of workshops as part of a science day in the students' school All the workshops are delivered by the SPLATS students. Sustainable Educational Environmental Developmental Sessions Science club project designed for six Y5 pupils to run sessions for twelve pupils in Y2. The Y5 pupils will, as Y6 pupils, train up their replacements. SEEDS provides thirty half hour activities, many relating to environmental issues. The aim is to encourage children to think in a scientific way about what they are doing, ask questions and communicate their observations and ideas.
