SUGGESTIONS AND INFORMATION TO MAKE THIS YEAR EASIER FOR YOU

Carry a backpack or bag If you need a calculator, get one and carry it in your backpack or bag. Use your locker at least three times a day. »B»Before school »B»Before or after lunch »A»After school

Use your assignment book daily. Know what your grades are at all times. Find one spot at home to complete your work. Place all your material and school supplies there everyday.

Keep one folder for every subject. blue folder = Math, red folder = Reading, green folder = Science You may also have a multi-purpose folder for students who are in a rush. Place all papers during the day in this folder. When your in Study Hall put all papers in the correct folders.

How to pass to the next grade. You are in high School, the State Department of Ohio determines if you pass or fail. You can’t be Socially promoted to the next grade.

You must EARN your grades. The State Department says that you must get 6 points in each class and 3 points in each semester class.

Math 1 st quarter English History Science Classes 2 nd quarter Exam Grade 4th quarter A = 4 pointsB= 3 points C =2 points D = 1 pointF= 0 points 3 rd quarter Exam Grade Final Pts.

Semester Class 1 st quarter 2 nd quarter Exam Grade Semester Class 3 rd quarter 4th quarter Exam Grade HealthGym Art Applied Tech A = 4 pointsB= 3 points C =2 points D = 1 pointF= 0 points

What happens if you don’t get your points? Fail one class – you pass – but your grade point average is bad. Fail two classes – you must attend summer school – which cost you around $270. Fail three classes – Repeat the grade.

ATTENDANCE POLICY If you miss 10 or more unexcused days in a class you will attend Saturday Academy. What is an unexcused day? If you stay home and your parents call in, take vacation or go out of town with written permission. Can I get days waived? YES

WAIVED DAYS Go to the Doctors Office – GET A NOTE for your missed school days and take it to the office. Funeral Court Hearing – bring paperwork to the office.
