10 9 TH GRADE MATH Below 75 avg in Math 8 to Algebra (with Math lab) in 9 th grade

11 9 TH GRADE MATH Teacher recommendations and performance on the NYS 8th grade math assessment may change placements as well

12 9 TH GRADE SCIENCE

13 For Accelerated Students: Living Environment in 8 th grade to Earth Science in 9 th grade

14 9 TH GRADE SCIENCE Students will take either Earth Science or Living Environment

15 FOREIGN LANGUAGE

16 8 th grade language: Pass course & local exam= 1.0 credit to Level 2

17 NYS OFFERS THREE DIFFERENT TYPES OF DIPLOMAS  Local Diploma  Regents Diploma  Advanced Regents Diploma

18 REGENTS DIPLOMA EXAM REQUIREMENTS  Integrated Algebra  Science  Global History  US History  Comprehensive English (Student must score at least 65% on all five Regents Exams.)

19 LOCAL DIPLOMA EXAM REQUIREMENTS (for students with IEPs only)  Algebra  Science  Global History  US History  Comprehensive English (Student must score at least 55% on all five Regents Exams)

23 SCHEDULING PROCESS The High School Counselors will review graduation requirements with 8 th grade students Mrs. Vanwormer & Mrs. Foan will meet with each student for course selection Students will take home course selection sheet for parent approval Approved course selection sheet must be signed & returned

27 FRESHMAN ORIENTATION  Held approximately one week before school opens for freshman & new students  Date & times will be mailed home prior  Day or evening session available  After presentation, students and parents can tour the building

28 FRESHMAN FIRST DAY  Only Freshman will attend the first day of school  Students will receive their schedules, tour the building and open locker  Students will learn about student clubs and activities
