How much water is used by a United States citizen each day Around gallons of water is used by an American each day, that means the average American uses around gallons a year. The Average Chinese native uses 86 liters a day! This is mainly because most Chinese companies and homes use Outhouses instead of toilets, which are big holes in the ground.

An average of 10 liters per person if you leave the water on while brushing your teeth. Did you know every time you flush a toilet you waste 1 gallon. It wastes 20 gallons of water by washing the dishes by hand.
