Wednesday Write

Create a character and write his/her bio. The character should be interesting (has goals/complications/fascinations/ hindrances/ etc.). Below are some ideas to ponder/include: o Family o Age o Occupation/school o Where living? o Complications? Hardships? o Pet/s o Illness/es o Quirks o Phobias o Where do they vacation? Where have they traveled? o What do they want (For a career? A goal? An accomplishment? To build?)? o Past relationships (with family? With girl/boy friends? With peers?) o Favorite things o Hobbies/collections/ obsessions o Tech savvy? o Outdoors-y o Favorite place to shop o Limitations o Favorite season

 Write a story whereby your character (the protagonist) pursues a goal (there’s an inciting incident?), encounters obstacles along the way in their pursuit, reaches a resolution  You can do one of the following: 1)Write this entirely in screenplay format (Celtx) But start your story now 2) Or you can write this in prose but have at least one scene, w/dialog, in screenplay format (using Celtx)

There is no length requirement, though it does need to be a complete story. – for those that like to write/get in the mood to write, write a lot – or those that want to potentially be the screenwriter for an upcoming project, may want to write at length what you do for this assignment may be reason to allow/assign/appoint you as the writer – for those that don’t believe writing is your forte, just be sure your story is complete and interesting Due: Monday, Dec. 16 (with time in class one day next week to work on it)

The doctor put his hand on her arm and said gently, “You...” The mother (brother/sister/girlfriend/father) is on trial for a crime the character committed. What was the crime? Did they take the rap or were they framed… There are three children sitting on a log near a stream. One of them looks up at the sky and says… There’s a guy sitting on a park bench reading a newspaper… Your character accidentally takes the wrong highway on a long road trip and ends up heading in the very wrong direction. They are lost… Your character is traveling across the country and your plane needs to stop for an emergency refuel. There is something more seriously with the plane and they all need to stay overnight… Your character moves from the mainstream world to an Amish town to become part of the community, why… Your character works as a telephone call screener for the CIA-- their job is simply to listen to people's calls. One day he/she hears… Your character's job is to sell knives (or something else) door to door.
