Fatima Islam May 25 TH, 2012 Biology 9G1 Greenhouse effect/Global Warming How does global warming affect our environment?

What is global warming? Global warming is when the earth heats up over it’s optimum temperature.

What is the greenhouse effect? The greenhouse effect is when the temperature rises because the sun’s heat and light is trapped in the earth’s atmosphere.

When does Global Warming occur? This occurs when green house gases trap heat and light from the sun in the earth’s atmosphere, which increases the temperature.

Did you know? Cars, buses, and trucks are also responsible for over 50% of dangerous chemicals let into the air. Some of these chemicals can cause cancer, trouble breathing, brain and nerve damage, lung injures, and burning eyes.

What are greenhouse gasses? Greenhouse gasses are gasses that are in the earth’s atmosphere that collect heat and light from the sun.

Greenhouse gas effect… With too many greenhouse gasses in the air, the earth’s atmosphere will trap too much heat and the earth will get too hot. Resulting in people, animals, and plants dyeing because the heat would be too strong.

Another GW Cause- Electric pollution - >Examples of using energy and polluting the air are: Turning on a light Listening to a radio Using a hair dryer Using an air conditioner Playing a video game

How can we stop global warming? Not watching as much TV Carpooling Turning off the lights Not using much electricity AND MUCH MORE!

TOGETHER…FOREVER… The tinniest things we do can make a very big difference…
