MY ACTION PROPOSAL

Topic Reducing the use of electricity. I will make bookmark to be shared about the impact of using electricity as part of my action.

Problem  My family is using electricity too much and we do not turn them off when we don't need it.

My Prior Knowledge  electricity is made from oil, gas, coal and sunlight and converted to get electricity.  electricity is used to make TV, PSP and all electronic stuff on.  electricity comes from power plants that produces smokes.  electricity use energy from natural resources.  electricity is a source that use sunlight.  electricity needs a lot of natural resources.  electricity can power up electronic things.  electricity is not easy to create.  electricity is a limit source.  electricity can be used by factories.

Inquiry Questions  White hat (facts): how much volt does a TV need once it is on?  yellow hat(benefits): why is TV entertaining?  black hat(problems): how does TV effect us to change?  blue hat(thinking): why do people need electronic device to enjoy their life?  green hat(solution):so, if we watch TV not too often will we become smart?  red Hat(feeling)why do people need electronic device to enjoy their life?

Purpose  To reduce the use of electricity so the power plant will not produce too much smokes.

background  Electricity comes from a power plant that produce smoke. If we use too much electricity the power plant will work more and cause more smoke.  If smoke is more it will cause holes at the atmosphere and let sunlight get in more and methane nitrous oxide and carbon dioxide cause the sunlight to get in and get the sunlight to be trapped, and sunlight will get in more, and if more sunlight is in the earth it will cause global warming.  If global warming happens the Arctic will melt and animals there will lost their habitats.  If animals lost their habitats, they will extinct and the amount of animals will decrease.

ORGANIZATION OF ACTION  1. I collected cardboard and keep it for a while  2. I have printing out the design of bookmark  3. I Copy and divide into 3  4. I paste it on the cardboard you have collected.  5. I cut the bookmark out  6. It can be used to mark your book and learn something from the message on the bookmark

Causes  watching too much TV and don't turn it off  Playing play-station too long  turning on light but not turn off when not needing  charging laptop too long  Using vacuum rather than broom when rooms are not too dirty.  using chair massager that use much electricity rather than going to reflexology.

effects  the atmosphere has a hole in ozone layer  global warming happens  the arctic is melting  the temperature getting hotter  climate change happens  more natural disasters  people dies  animals dies  animals extinct  more endangered species

- 15 February What I have done What I have learnt What I feel now What I will do next I collected a cardboard and keep it I learnt that reusing cardboard can save the earth and decrease deforestation because cardboard is made out of wood I feel proud because I have helped the world to be better and cleaner I will make a bookmark and distribute to my class My Action Evidences: pictures recording data result parents/adult people comments

- 18 February What I have done What I have learnt What I feel now What I will do next I have made a bookmark to explain about electricity I have learnt that electricity is made from oil, gas, coal and sunlight and converted to a generator to make electricity I feel happy to learn more and tired of making the bookmarks I will keep reminding my family to turn off electronic stuff when not needed My Action Evidences: pictures recording data result parents/adult people comments

- 19 February What I have done What I have learnt What I feel now What I will do next I have explain to my brother about my bookmark because my brother always forget to unplug or turn off electrical stuff when not needed I can learn that my brother have weaknesses on remembering to unplug his charger when not needed I feel a little disappointed when he forget to unplug the charger I will try to help him by unplugging his charger of I pad or computer. My Action Evidences: pictures recording data result parents/adult people comments

Conclusion  By doing this, my family and I now know what are the impact and the causes of using too much electricity.
