PUA – receiving: barcode a fix for sites having trouble receiving items by barcode (i.e. barcode normalization)

checkin at wrong location “INN-Reach items received at the wrong location will be set in transit to the correct location.”... message to staff to send to pickup location explanation: if item sent to patron’s home library by mistake, when staff at patron site wand in barcode, the system responds to send it to PUA site, and the status remains In Transit.  applies only to item received at Patron Site  does NOT perform a checkin

Pop-up boxes “The pop-up boxes during the circulation of INN-Reach materials will be streamlined.”

Too long reports “INN-Reach Too Long Reports will be available in Millennium with additional displayable fields and sorting capabilities..”

Offline circ “Offline Circulation processing will permit the circulation of INN-Reach items. “

Catalog: Summit button “INN-Reach sites will be able to place the INN-Reach button in three possible locations: in the resource table, in the navigation row, or (new in 2006) above the result page navigation element ("pager"). (Pro only).”

Requesting: patron verification Patron request will not be refused if address field in patron record is blank. “Address will no longer be a required field for INN-Reach patron verification”

Privacy – patron data “INN-Reach circulation messages will no longer include personal patron data when be sent between local sites” This is an “option to exclude” set up at local site

Automatic re-request “Requests can automatically move from a paged location to another potential supplier without staff action at the paged location.”  automatically cancel the [original] hold and place a hold at another site  system-wide setting for # days inaction  note: no notice at original site that request has been canceled

Title reports “the number of characters from the title field sent in an INN-Reach circulation message will be extended from 32 to 256 characters” If you’ve been manually creating lists of requested items for Collection Development, Acquisitions, etc., you may be able to stop! Use reports already available!

Non-returnables (ArticleReach) “new product: request non-returnable items through the INN-reach catalog” (designed primarily for issues or volumes of serials)

Non-returnables It works: Accepts requests from OpenURL and from a form within the catalog Searches member library holdings and constructs a routing priority Prints paging slips Items not held export into ILLiad/Clio Takes an Arielled article and posts it to a secure web site as a PDF and then notifies the requestor ACRL New England Chapter - April 21, 2006
