Introduction The following information focuses on helpful technology tools for an educator in a K-3 environment. Teachers should be knowledgeable about current technology and be able to share the information with their students. As a primary grade teacher the focus can be geared towards the ways that technology can be incorporated into daily lesson plans and curriculums. The internet provides great resources for both teachers and students.

Summary Findings The websites researched focus on technology tools for a K-3 age group. The websites offer assistance to teachers for lesson plans, educational resources, classroom management, activities and curriculum. The curriculum ideas and lesson plans focus on different subject areas to incorporate technology into the children’s everyday education.

Detailed Findings While researching the 20 websites, several proved to be more useful to the subject area of the research topic. This section includes the top five most useful websites researched with the focus on the subject of K-3 technology tools. Hotchalk’s Lesson Plans Page The Hotchalk’s Lesson Plans Page website offers over 3000 computer and internet lesson plans for K-12. Technology in Education Resource Center The mission of this website is to improve student achievement through technology. Their focus is to improve teaching and student achievement by promoting and increasing the use of technology in the classroom. The categories that allow resources to be chosen from are, planning and evaluation, professional development, integrating technology, teaching and learning, technology highlights, special topics and by age classification. This site can be accessed at

Storyline Online Storyline Online is provided by the Screen Actors Guild Foundation. The website streams online video of actors reading stories, the stories include activities and lesson plans. It is free to link to the stories and with the appropriate technology this website could be very entertaining and useful to young students. The books can be viewed by connecting to the page at

K-3 Learning Pages K-3 Learning Pages is a website that offers resources for Kindergarten through grade 3 teachers. This site promotes technology use and its importance and shares examples from other teachers. Links are provided to key values such as, projects, software, internet sites, classroom resources, multimedia, communication, portfolios, learning extensions and many others. The site can be found at

Francis Scott Key This is a website provided by the Francis Scott Key Technology Magnet School located in Baltimore, Maryland which has a major focus on the importance of technology in the classroom. Conclusions The five websites I have included in this paper are both helpful and useful to a teacher focusing on technology tools in the kindergarten through third grade level. The websites provide this focus group of teachers with some ideas for curriculum and lesson plans, so that technology may be integrated into their classroom. I hope that many new teachers and seasoned teachers use the websites recommended, as well as the many other sites available to them, to assist in using technology as a tool in the classroom.
