How have you been doing? “Recommendation 16 Same As You?”: Local authorities need to give much greater priority to developing a range of employment opportunities for people with learning disabilities. And, with Health Boards those authorities should lead by example in employing more people with learning disabilities. Section 26 of the Mental Health Act (2003): Local Authorities shall provide services for wellbeing and social development including: assistance for such of those persons as are over school age in obtaining and in undertaking employment.
