Provide more quality training on ethnicity and health to: –Raise cultural awareness –Challenge stereotypes –Improve information and skills. Help services to build information to cover: –Accurate records on ethnicity –Good knowledge of the local community Encourage working in partnerships between different sectors. Assist services to develop policies and action to meet local needs.

Skills includes: –Listening skills –Respect for other cultures –Provide proper explanations.

(5) Award of cultural competence Developed jointly with the Commission for Racial Equality to measure compliance with the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2002
