Definitions to know!  Biotic- all of the living components in an ecosystem  Abiotic- all of the non-living components in an ecosystem

 Biosphere-  Areas on and around the earth that can sustain life  Examples hydrosphere, lithosphere  Biome-  An area with characteristic conditions (climate, soil and organisms)

 Ecosystem-  All the organisms in a particular area and the abiotic elements that they interact with  Community-  A group of populations that interact within an ecosytem  Polar bears, seals, fish

 Population-  A group of organism that are the same species within an ecosystem  Ex. Polar bears  Individuals-  An individual organism  Ex. A polar bear
