Dollars and Cents By: Mrs. Moore
Learning Target I will use a decimal and dollar sign to show money amounts.
How much? How much money does Sandy have in her wallet?
Let’s count together… In Sandy’s wallet we saw: That is 3 quarters which equals 75 cents. Plus 2 dimes which equals 20 cents, plus 2 nickels which equals 10 cents. Altogether that is $1.05
Count the money and write the amount in dollars and cents. Write down your answer on your white boards:
Check your answer You should have written $1.60
Now you draw on your white boards the answer to this: The amount of money you would need to equal baseballs that cost $4.57. Draw dollar bills and coins to show $4.57.
Count the money how much is it?
Check your answer: You should have written on your white board $1.30
Great job again with money!!
