TREATY OF VERSAILLES AND THE LEAGUE OF NATIONS Notes

End of the War Germany surrenders on November 11, 1918.

The treaty of Versailles was the treaty that ended the war.

It was signed at the Palace of Versailles, outside Paris, France. The treaty was created by “the Big Four”: Wilson – President of USA Clemenceau – President of France Lloyd George – Prime Minister of England Orlando – Prime Minister of Italy

The Treaty of Versailles blames the ENTIRE war on Germany, and makes them agree to several harsh conditions: Germany must take full responsibility for the war Germany must get rid of its colonies Germany must get rid of its navy (and submarines) The League of Nations will be created

Treaty of Versailles Activity

League of Nations Woodrow Wilson had 14 points that he wanted to accomplish with the Treaty of Versailles, and the 14 th point was the League of Nations.

The purpose of the League of Nations was to prevent a future war.

It didn’t work, and World War Two happened anyways.

Lets Sing Along!
