Habitat Changes and Fish Migration
Presentation transcript:

Welcome to the Jungle! If your birthday is in January thru March go to table one. If your birthday is in April thru June go to table two. If your birthday is in July thru September go to table three. If your birthday is in October thru December go to table four. Then wait for next instructions…

The oldest person in each group is the leader. Leaders need to come to the front of the room and pick up their jungle survival kits from the teacher now. All others silently wait for their leader to return.

This is a contest to see which group will get out of the jungle first. When told to do so, your leader will open your jungle kit and your group will swiftly assemble the Food Guide Pyramid in your kit. Also included in your kit is water for each person to prevent dehydration, some animal crackers to tide you over, and a mint for freshening up. Youngest person in each group, get ready because your part is coming up.

BY THE WAY………….. The youngest member of the group needs to come get your packet of foods. BETTER HURRY!!

Here’s a hint, the nuts go in the same group as the meats. Also, what group does the ice cream really go in? DAIRY

The first group completed and sitting down around their Food Guide Pyramid with their index fingers on their noses…

BE SURE TO DOUBLE CHECK YOUR PYRAMIDS BEFORE YOU CALL ME OVER TO CHECK YOU OFF! DON’T FORGET ABOUT YOUR SNACKS, TOO.

Put everything back in the bag before bringing it up to trade for your next obstacle. DO NOT WORK AHEAD!!

Obstacle #2 : Raiders of the Lost Nutrition Facts Send one person who hasn’t come up yet to grab your next challenge. You must place your previous bag back in place of the new bag.

Find the Information You must fill in the information you can find on the nutrition label on the package of food you received. Watch out for falling rocks!

Obstacle #3: The Last Crusade Your last crusade is to match up the parts of your map correctly. Send one more person up to get your map parts! Hurry, hurry! You’ll miss the jeep ride back if you don’t go quickly!

CONGRATULATIONS! You have successfully made it out of the jungle! You are expert explorers now! Be sure you turn in your completed passport!
