Why Read? Children who read often and widely get better at it. It exercises our brains. Improves concentration. Teaches children about the world around them. Improves vocabulary and leads to more highly-developed language skills. Develops imagination. Helps develop empathy. A great form of entertainment. Relaxes the body and clams the mind. Underpins the whole curriculum. Read daily with your child and discuss what they are reading.

The children will be expected to take on responsibility for themselves and their equipment during the week and to work in a team, they will learn about themselves, others and the environment through taking part in a number of challenging activities. This is a great opportunity for primary aged children to gain experience of independence before going on to secondary school, for a teacher to build a strong self assured hard working team for the coming year, or as a finale to primary school life. Our instructors are well used to relating outdoor adventurous experiences back to curriculum areas in schools and can concentrate on specific areas if requested.
