4 Lunch and Snack Lunch buyers
Add money to your child’s account today in the cafeteria. Send any lunch money in a labeled bag/envelope. Discuss ahead of time with your child what they should get for lunch. Put restrictions on your child’s lunch account. Make Ms. Pair, Cafeteria Manager, aware of any food allergies your child has. Packers Send a healthy lunch with your child along with utensils and napkins. Make your child aware if his/her lunch contains any tree nut or peanut products. Help your child practice opening containers/packages so they can be independent at lunch. Discuss with your child what to do with unfinished/unopened food. Manners are very important in the dining room. Children are expected to remain in their seats until the end of lunch when they are asked to clean up and throw away their own trash. It is helpful to us as a staff if parents wait until the third week of school to join your child at lunch time. Eating lunch without a parent is an important step towards independence. Snack One healthy, nut free snack and water. No other drinks allowed in the classroom.

5 Parent and Student Must-Dos
Parents Support your children every day by helping them take on the responsibilities of being a successful student by coming prepared for the day. Read my blog every Sunday/Monday evening so you’ll know what the upcoming week will be about. Send them off in the morning with words of encouragement and the challenge to learn or try something new for the day. Welcome them in the afternoon with a desire to hear about their day and check their folder for news, notes, work and their behavior chart. Label coats, sweaters, lunch boxes, hats, etc. Students Pack up your backpack with your folder, lunch/snack, and library book. Come to school well-rested and ready to learn. Wear tennis shoes everyday so you will be safe on the playground. Learn to tie your shoes, zip coats, and put on winter gloves.
