Increase representation of women in technical roles. Attract  Develop  Retain 4

Interrupt the conversation. Get people talking. 5

Educate. 6

Inspire. 7

Shift the conversation on #womenintech. 8

9

10

In 2013 only 26% of tech positions in the US were held by women. 11

So we decided to put a different spin on that number. 12

Challenge people to take action. 13

Show diversity in age, experience, nationality, technical skill set. Appeal to millennial and mid-career technical women. Provide sharable assets to your employees, clients, partners. 14

How can you develop and retain technical women?  Engage your most senior leaders as role models and mentors.  Create a clear technical career path and development pipeline for women.  Sponsor and participate in professional conferences and education initiatives.  Partner with others in the industry to elevate the women in technology conversation. 15

SWE and iRelaunch announced the STEM Re-entry Taskforce to form a solid pipeline for returning STEM women to ease the transition to full-time employment. 16

What can you do TODAY?  Join the #womenintech conversation.  Participate in the Hack-A-Hairdryer movement.  Share your thoughts on social media using the hashtag #HackAHairdryer. 17

Thank you!
