If it changes how information is created… If it changes how information is shared… If it changes how information is evaluated… If it changes how people connect… If it changes how people communicate… If it changes what people can do for themselves… Then it will change education, teaching, and learning.

Students must master core subjects and applied skills coupled with the use of technology to participate and/or compete in the global market economy and to manage their own destinies in the workplace and community.

Though schools are providing technology, schools are not yet prepared for how to integrate the technology into the curriculum. For this reason, the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) have devised standards (NETS-T, NETS-S, NETS-FT and NETS-TL ) to assist the process.
