 Launching Workshop for Chickpea Pre-breeding project held at RMVSKVV, Indore (Madhya Pradesh) during August, 2010  Launching Workshop for Lentil Pre-breeding project held at IIPR, Kanpur during September Acc(land races) of Chickpea Samples imported from various countries viz. Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Greece, Tunisia, and Spain, 5 varieties (3 from IARI, Delhi and 2 from MPKV, Rahuri) for Terminal heat & drought tolerance, and resistance to Ascochyta blight traits have been planted at New Delhi, Kanpur and Rahuri along with 105 wild ACC (71 Acc of IG wild Chickpea Samples imported from Lebanon, Turkey, Afghanistan, Israel, Jordan and Syria; 27 ACC from IIPR, Knapur and 7 from MPKV, Rahuri) to be used in pre-breeding programme are sown 260 Acc of Lentil Samples (landraces +wilds)imported from various countries viz. Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Turkey, Lebanon, Ethiopia, Iran, Egypt and Morocco for Earliness, tolerance to heat and drought, resistance to Stemphylium blight, root rots traits have been planted at New Delhi, Kanpur and Sehore along with 50 Acc of wild Lentil Samples imported from these countries for IARI & NBPGR
