Why project based learning? A basic goal of universities of applied sciences is to enable the students to achieve high-level professional knowledge and expertise.

What is a project? Project has a goal Project duration is limited in time and a project group is formed to implement the project Project functions with certain monetary resources Projects proceed in phases: Idea Pre-phase Planning Implementation Ending Exploitation of results Evaluation

What is project based learning? Relatively long-term learning process that integrates knowledge from different disciplines. The learning process takes place in small groups organised around meaningful problems, and results in a collaborative learning product. Customer orientation Clear assignment and goal Establishing a project group and dividing responsibilities Exact duration of project Monitoring of project process, reporting and evaluation Ultimate goal to learn project working skills
