SAASS Continuing Eligibility Monitoring SAASS Academic Coordinators are responsible for the eligibility monitoring of student athletes with whom they work independent of the University Registrar.

SAASS Continuing Eligibility Monitoring Class Schedule Review – Full Time Enrollment – Full Time Enrollment Exception – NCAA 6 Hour Requirement – 18 Hours Each Academic Year – 24 Hours First Year

SAASS Continuing Eligibility Monitoring NCAA Percentage of Degree Review – Designated degree program beginning of 5 th semester of full time enrollment (note: Recertification will not occur after initial certification of designated major) Review of potential majors prior to designation for undecided majors Review of potential majors prior to change of major – Determination of 40 percent of degree completed by the start of 5 th semester – Determination of 60 percent of degree completed by the start of 7 th semester – Determination of 80 percent of degree completed by the start of 9 th semester

SAASS Continuing Eligibility Monitoring NCAA/Virginia Tech Cumulative GPA Requirement Review – Start of second year: 90 percent of GPA required – 1.80 GPA – Start of third year: 95 percent of GPA required – 1.90 GPA – Start of fourth year: 100 percent of GPA required – 2.00 GPA – Virginia Tech requires all students to maintain a minimum 2.00 GPA
