3 Doing Work Sequentially in SESIS: A Review  Complete and finalize Referral documents (e.g., Request for Initial Referral) before starting Assessment documents.  Complete and finalize Assessment documents (e.g., Assessment Planning, Assessments) before starting the IEP.  Complete and finalize the Notice of IEP before starting the IEP. 4 Process Status: Defined  The Process Status is a section of the student’s profile which can be located in the Special Education Summary page.  Within this section, two data points are critical to the work done in SESIS: -Process Stage - indicates in which “process” a student resides (e.g., Initial, Reevaluation, Annual Review, etc.) -Is the Process Open? – indicates whether the process for the student is open (e.g., in CAP and / or in SESIS) New York City Department of Education | Special Education Student Information System Project

6 Process Stage as it relates to Referrals  Creating and finalizing the documents below will update the student's Process Stage accordingly : -Initial Referral -Request for Initial Referral -Request for Reevaluation -Additional Request for Reevaluation New York City Department of Education | Special Education Student Information System Project

7 Process Stage as it relates to Annual Reviews  Creating and finalizing the Notice of IEP will update the student's Process Stage to Annual Review for: -Initials -Reevaluations -Additional Reevaluations -3 Year Mandated Reevaluations  However the process MUST be closed as shown by the “No” indicator.
