Microsoft was founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen. The Microsoft corporation is an American public multinational corporation headquartered in Redmond, Washington. Microsoft was established on April 4 th 1975 to develop and sell basic interpreters for the Altair It was created to dominate the home computer operating system. Microsoft was originally made for designing computers, however over the years they have diversified into the video game industry creating the Xbox. In 2011 the Microsoft corporation made a profit of around US$23.15 billion and their operating income US$27.16 billion!. In June 2011 there was 90,000 members working for the Microsoft company. Microsoft created and funded Xbox and now has become on of the most best selling consoles ever in the world, also creating Zune, MSN, and the windows phone OS, expanding their interests and try to spread themselves over every product.

In 1984 while Microsoft were developing a new OS with IBM they also created and released Microsoft Windows, a graphical extension for MS-DOS, on November 20. Microsoft were originally founded in Albuquerque, New Mexico but moved their headquarters to Redmond on February 26, 1986 and on March 13 th the company went public! Because Microsoft were in partnership with IBM, in 1990 the Federal Trade Commission was looking to Microsoft for possible collusion and marked the beginning of over a decade of legal clashes with the US Government. Microsoft later introduced its office suite in 1990, the software created separate office productivity applications for example Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. On May 22 nd Microsoft launched Windows 3.0 with a streamlined user interface graphics and improved protected mode capability Novell. A Word competitor from years later went on to file a lawsuit claiming that Microsoft left part of its APIs undocumented in order to gain a competitive advantage.

Xbox 360 was developed by Microsoft and is on of the latest consoles out to date and is a part of the seventh generation gaming consoles. From the 31 st of March there have been 53.6 million consoles sold worldwide! MTV channel was the first to officially show the Xbox 360 on their channel. It was on the 12 th of May and also had detailed launch and game information divulged later that month. Xbox 360 sold out completely upon release.

Xbox 360 was created to allow players to compete other features allow you to download arcade games, game demos, trailers, TV shows, music, movies and even its Windows Media Center. The Xbox 360 also has third- party media streaming for example Netflix. ESPN etc. At their E3 event presentation on June 14 th, 2010, Microsoft announced that the new Xbox would have integrated b/g/n Wi-Fi, TOSLINK S/P/DIF optical audio output, 5 USB ports unlike the older Xbox that only had 3 USB ports and even a special AUX port. The first new console to be released features a 260 GB hard drive, while a later, less expensive version features a 4 GB internal hard drive. IGN names the Xbox 360 the sixth greatest video game console of all time, out of a field of 25!

Many accessories are available for the Xbox 360 including wired and wireless controllers, faceplates for customization, headsets for chatting with friends etc. There are also four sizes of hard drives (20 GB, 60 GB, 120 GB and 250 GB) Kinect is a controller free gaming and entertainment experience for the Xbox 360. Kinect was first announced on June 1 st, 2009 at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, developers used the name Project Natal.
