2 PRODUCT When the Nintendo Wii U was developed many consumers were under the impression that they could play it any where they wanted, since the controller had a screen built into it. Many consumers were disappointed and felt mislead when they discovered they still needed the console to play the games they loved. This lead to many video gamers skipping the console all together for mobile gaming and other platforms. In addition the Wii U did not sell well due to the lack of games available for the console.

3 Product Due the these reasons the Nintendo decided to create the Nintendo switch to provide an experience their customers love. With the Nintendo Switch games can be played on a television through an HDMI cable, when the console is connected to a docking station. It can also be used on the go by sliding the Joy-cons on each side of the touch screen or can be played in table top mode with multiple people. It also comes with a dock for each Joy-con to create a traditional controller.

4 Target Market Broad range between 12-30
Wants to introduce Nintendo to the new, younger audience. Still appealing to the older, loyal customers. Ability to take it on the go. Car/bus rides, planes, trains etc. Creating new games in a well-established series. Big example: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

5 Place Consumers may purchase the Nintendo Switch online through Amazon and in store through different retailers such as Best Buy, Target, Walmart, and etc. The Nintendo Switch Pre-Orders were sold out within a couple days upon release on Amazon, Game Stop, and Best Buy. It remains sold out online and in stores like Game Stop, Best Buy and Walmart. Nintendo Announced that Switch will be restocked in New York at there Flag Ship store starting March 28th

6 Price Part 2 The Nintendo Switch was priced at $ upon its release which was $ less than the Playstation4 and $ less than the Xbox One  Costing more than $50.00 than the original release of the Nintendo 3DS.

7 Price Part 2 Online gaming service is currently free compared to Xbox and PlayStation which have a yearly paid subscription Nintendo has partnered with third party gaming developers to make games at a lower price to the consumer

8 Promotions Promoted pretty much everywhere like TV, in-store ads, and social media like: Twitter Facebook Instagram Commercials Superbowl ad Youtube ad Commercials feature mostly young adults Playing at home, school, wherever by themselves or with group of friends

-Virtual console abilities (download/play old Nintendo games) -Free monthly game downloads -Additional support from 3rd party developers Additional forecasts for the future look good. The Nintendo Switch has been Nintendo’s fastest selling unit they have ever had. Currently they have sold over 1.5 million units from its launch just 1 month ago. They key to its continued success is to deliver consistent content through new games and experiences month over month to year over year.

15 Recommendations The Nintendo Switch is a good product for any of the following people: People who want to play group games with their friends People who want to be able to take their traditionally stationary games with them wherever they go Anyone who is a fan on Nintendo brand I.P.’s It’s a good product that fills a niche in the market that hasn’t been properly filled with a balance of home console and handheld gaming unit in one.
