UT Commitment & Action Taken Sl. No. CommitmentsAction Taken 1. It will ensure that all child entitlements, including textbooks, supplementary material, uniforms, etc. are provided at the beginning of the academic year to all children. Students are provided with Free text books during the beginning of the academic sessions. The Uniforms are provided during the month of June when the schools reopen. 2. It will initiate steps for curricular reform as per section 29 of the RTE Act, and in accordance with the Advisory No F. No /2010 EE 4 issued by the MHRD and in keeping with the principles of NCF, 2005 UT of Daman & Diu has adopted the curriculum procedures for Elementary Education of Gujarat State. 3. It will ensure that all school related grants under SSA, including Teacher Grant, School Grant and Maintenance Grant are released in the first quarter of the financial year to facilitate schools to utilize the Grants in a meaningful manner. Every year the grants such as Teacher Grant, School Grant and Maintenance Grant under SSA are released in the first quarter of the financial year i.e in the month of June. 11

It will review in-service teacher training programmes to ensure that it conforms to the revised curriculum, and formulate a long term in-service teacher development programme. UT has organized in service teachers training for teachers of Govt Schools. The objective of the training were subject specific training, RTE etc. 5.The UT will expedite the implementation of admission of 25% children from disadvantaged groups and weaker sections in class I in private unaided schools as mandated by section 12 (i) (c) of RTE Act, 2009 UT Administration has circulated to all the Private Unaided schools regarding implementation of admission of 25% children from disadvantaged groups and weaker sections in class I in private unaided schools as mandated by section 12 (i) (c) of RTE Act,

UT will ensure completion of civil works sanctioned under SSA by September, SSA has released the civil works fund to the PWD, District Panchayat except that of 01 Primary and Upper Primary School. 7. UT will ensure that teacher recruitment is expedited. UT has recruited 159 teachers on short term contract basis against the regular vacancies of Primary/ Upper Primary teachers. 8.UT will put in place a Grievance Redressal Mechanism in accordance with the Advisory No. F. No.1- 18/2010 –EE 4 issued by the MHRD under section 31 and 32 of the RTE Act by October, 2013 by July, The UT is in process of notifying the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights which is dealt by the Social welfare department. 13

UT has conducted the Executive Committee meeting on 11/11/2013 for the approval of Annual and Audit report and on 22/01/2014 for the approval of Annual work plan and Budget for the year The UT will do a sample study learning level outcomes which will be shared in the next PAB. UT has completed the codal formalities to conduct the State Assessment Survey. The Sample survey will be conducted in the month of February The UT will roll out and use Quality Monitoring Tools developed by NCERT. UT has implemented the Quality Monitoring Tools at SMC,Cluster, block, district and State level. 14

Sl. No.CommitmentsAction Taken 12. The UT will study the CCE exemplar developed by NCERT and revise / modify its own systems, if necessary. UT has adopted the CCE module package of Gujarat State. 13. The UT will widely disseminate and use the CCE information material developed by Government of India / UNICEF for spreading understanding amongst parents, community and teachers. This would be distributed and used in community training programmes also. UT has adopted the CCE modules of Gujarat State. All the schools has implemented CCE and its output is shared with Parents. 14.The UT will provide its share for the approved plan on 65:35 centre state sharing pattern and first installment of the UT share would be released to the State Implementation Society within one month of release of central share. UT has provided its share of an amount Rs lakhs for the year in the month of September
