What’s next with OFSTED?  Waiting anyday now for OFSTED to re-inspect!  Interim reports have been very positive.

English & Maths  Foundations to more advanced levels of learning.  Varied opportunities through the curriculum and outside of the curriculum  Home Learning opportunities  Parent workshops to support

Year 3  Making friends, getting to know the school and staff, enjoying and being challenged in their learning.  Opportunities for children and parents.  How can you support your child’s learning?  After an initial period of adjustment the children will be encouraged to develop their independence in learning.

Classes for September 2015  Your children will not be mixed into new classes for September This is based on previous years experiences. But we will change the classes at the end of Year 3.  Our Year 3 teachers and SEN team will be working with current schools to ensure that we know your child quickly  Fryern children- we will work with your teachers to ensure that children keep friendships as they join in September.  If children across the schools know each other then we will try to also accommodate this.

First Day in September Start Tuesday 1 st September Your child will need to:  Meet on the main playground between 8.40 and 8.50 in their new red school uniform (parents you can wait with them).  They will need a book bag/ school bag  PE Kit  Packed lunch or school dinner money  NOT a pencil case!!  At the end of the day (3.30pm) we will bring them out onto the playground (normal end of day procedure for Year 3) and ensure that we hand them back to you- tired but smiling!

First week in September Start Tuesday 1 st September Your child will have: An individual reading book Library book Reading diary Homework folders Some work on display You will have: Received your first newsletter from us Had feedback from your child’s teacher as to how they are settling in through a school postcard Invitation to a meet the teacher meeting

Challenges and hopes for 2015/2016  More outdoor learning  More specialised curriculum days and use of specialist leaders across the school.  Further review of the curriculum over the summer term to ensure high quality, engaging projects  Getting to grips with Life after levels!
