The Red Pony You need to know the following: Main Characters Conflict in each chapter Three Main Events in each chapter How the protagonist changes over the course of the entire novel.

5 Paragraph Essay You need to know the following: Introduction: Four Parts Three Body Paragraphs: Four Parts Conclusion: Four Parts You must be able to read an essay and dissect it.

Plot Diagram You need to know the 5 parts of the plot diagram: Exposition, Rising Action, Climax, Falling Action, Resolution. Definition for each.

Characterization Know the two different types of characterization: Direct and Indirect Example of Direct 5 types of Indirect Characterization: Appearance, Actions, Speech, Thoughts and Feelings, Other Character’s Reactions. An example for each from the novels or short stories that we have read.

Vocabulary 25 words on the final exam. I will give you 10 that will be on the exam and choose 15 at random. Sentences.
